On March 31st our Portuguese colleagues welcomed 75 Health Professionals for a Car Safety Session. The visit included a tour in the production area to get to know different stages in the manufacturig of Child Restraint System (CRS). The project is called 'Safety of Infants, Children and Young People'; a partnership with the Portuguese General Directorate of Health.
The aim of this project is to enable health professionals improving the level of knowledge in child road safety: a safe transportation of children, and to learn about safe behaviour in the car and on the road.
Actions to promote child safety and prevent accidents involving children are challenges in today’s society that require involvement of public and private organizations. That's why the Portuguese General Directorate of Health and Dorel Juvenile in Portugal have joined forces.
The project 'safety of infants, children and young people' is part of the 'Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020', which is launched in over 100 countries with one goal: to prevent five million road traffic deaths globally by 2020. The first session in Portugal was in November 2013. As of that time our Portuguese team has been investing in training of the health professionals nationwide.
